Wednesday’s nominee is Ka’Sondra Brown. She was nominated by Robin Feeney. Robin says, “KaSondra has been tireless in efforts to keep the CAC God’s Pantry running like a fine tuned engine. Putting the staff 1st so they can be their best in serving the community safely. Offering dignity to every soul, being a role model, a mentor, and a damn fine human being.”
For Ms. Ka’Sondra Brown, service is her mission. She believes that everyone is put on this Earth for a purpose – for Ms. Brown, service is her purpose!
Ms. Ka’Sondra Brown consistently serves not only Fayette County, but throughout the last 14 years, through upward movement, she has been of service for at least 13 counties with the Community Action Council. In addition, in 2019, the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky appointed Ms. Brown as the State Commissioner of Volunteerism; noting her stellar dedication to the state of Kentucky in mobilizing individuals and community partners to improve the livelihood of all citizens within the Commonwealth, with a special focus on seniors.
In addition, Ms. Brown continually encourages community success by engaging with community partners and working on behalf of some of the most vulnerable populations. For example, she has been successful in strengthening ties with community partners such as the Food Chain exposing over 25 different seniors to healthy nutrition and food safety, in addition to spear-heading the Winburn Community Farmers Market.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, the Council’s Executive Director appointed Ms. Brown to direct and manage all efforts to address the astronomical increase of needs for the local community, mainly related to food insecurity and to connect individuals with other basic essential needs.
