There are creative campaigns and then there are "Oh, that's clever". Recently the Milwaukee Brewers pulled off the "clever" campaign. Take a look at the Lock in Luc and Go for Gomez ads here, courtesy of Deadspin.

Even though I'm a die hard Reds fan, I appreciate the creativity. MLB has been trying for roughly a decade to generate more buzz around the all star game. Remember Milwaukee? A tie? What baseball game ends in a tie?

Whether or not baseball traditionalist  like it, something like these attack ads will generate a conversation about the All Star game this year. Conversations are good for baseball now. Scoring has hit a low point since the PED generation and there's still a bad taste in fan's mouths due to PED use. If these ads get around, at least cause a few laughs among fans, and spark other clubs to get creative with marketing, then the buzz will last in MLB.
