The Big Blue Nation is getting bigger

As a halt comes to renovations of Rupp arena, just down the street renovations are already underway at Commonwealth Football Stadium.

The last time Commonwealth Stadium underwent renovation was back in  1999.  As seen if you click on the link below.  This shows the stadium just before renovations in 1999.

I was only 9 years old when the stadium looked like this and don’t quite remember it.  I am told that it almost felt like a high school field.  The renovations that were done in 1999 added additional seating at each end zone.   You can see these if you click on the link below.

And now under the direction an era of Coach Stoops more renovations are underway.  They are set to be completed by the 2015 season.

Construction on the home of the football Wildcats is on schedule, despite a hard winter. For the first time, fans driving by the stadium can see an actual change to the facade.  UK will still have the newest stadium in the South Eastern Conference. In addition, new practice fields and offices will be built nearby.  The project will bring all football operations to Commonwealth Stadium.  The new renovations will also include elevators to premium box seating and a new press box.

The big blue nation just keeps getting bigger and better!  That's all for my end of the week blog. And as always it's Listner Fridays.  Tweet me @AprilWLXG or write us on Facebook "Sunday Mornings with Eric and April".  We want to discuss topics important to you!
