Slow Day? No worries! Random Sports Thoughts!

No podcast today, very busy preparing for the Seniors vs Juniors all star game tonight. Remember the games are at Bryan Station tonight, girls game at 6, we go live with Game Night Hoo Rah at 7 with a pregame for the boys and tip off at 8pm. Tonight should be a blast!
I've always enjoyed columnist who take time to address multiple things in their pieces when it's a slow news day. I'm taking this concept and applying it today. Locally, we don't have much going on, but nationally, things are still interesting. I'll break out this format every once in a while, so enjoy! One thing to remember, you can tweet me @EricWLXG about any topic, any day of the week and I will of course have a conversation with you about it. I'm always up for good sports talk! Now, lets have some fun!
-I wish Donald Sterling would go away. I'm sick and tired of this story. We thought the Favre saga was bad? No sir! This is 10x worse! Take the money and go away.
-The World Cup is intriguing. I enjoyed watching it 4 years ago, I didn't know what was going on then, and I don't know what is going on half the time now, but I enjoy the hype! I'm of course going to watch the USA matches, but it's teams like Brazil, England, and various others I will have my eye on. My question is, if/when (94% says when) USA gets eliminated, will there still be hype in the states? Maybe? Doubtful? Will I watch? I dunno?
-How entertaining are the NBA Finals right now?!?! Drama, oh the drama! I addressed last week, my appreciation of Tim Duncan and how I want him to go out on top. Who knows what Game 4- Game 7 (yes, I'm calling it, this series is going 7) will have for us? With the Spurs winning in Miami last night, they now have home court advantage, which is huge, they have the upper hand on series, but Miami did prove they can win on the road too.
-Derek Fisher to the Knicks? Love it! Great hire. I actually prefer Fisher over Kerr. Think about it, have you watched a Thunder the last few seasons? Fisher has been an assistant on the team, just wearing a jersey. As A'mare said yesterday, the Knicks a disciplinarian coaching this team. If so, Fisher is your guy!
-I'm looking forward to tonights coverage of the Seniors vs Juniors game because I want to see Justin Johnson from Perry Central. He's a power forward who is committed to play at WKU. The Tops need some size and power for Conference USA, is Johnson the guy? Being a Top alum, I hope he is. I 'll miss George Fant when he graduates.
-Tyler Ullis being out of the KY vs IN all star game, sucks, it simply sucks. It doesn't matter, and it actually helps KY, but I wanted to see this kid in person. But knee tendonitis is preventing this kid from show casing his talents.
-I love the Cincinnati Reds with everything in me, but this team is hard to watch right now. I watched the Bob Boone days for crying out loud! This team has so much, but performs so little! Get to over .500 but the time of the all star break and I'll at least be content.
-Working on some cool interviews in the coming weeks. Chris Lofton, Randall Cobb, and Chad Johnson. Yes, Ocho. Will they happen? I dunno. But if they do, then high fives for all involved!
-April Lancaster does not like how I dip hash browns into grape jelly. My response? Twice the hash browns, twice the jelly!
-Puig of the Dodgers is simply fun to watch. How can you not like this guy? He plays baseball like all of us should have in Little League. Smiling and having fun!
I could go, but I won't, these are a few thoughts I wanted to share. Do you have any? Tweet me @EricWLXG
April Lancaster's night at the race: She was front row and center at the Quaker State 400 where Brad Keselowski got the win. ÂÂÂ Take a look at these up close and personal images she had just a few inches away from the track. ÂÂÂ
