Grateful Tuesday

Staying with the tradition of my blog, today is Grateful Tuesday.

As many of you know I am recently engaged and in the process of planning a wedding.  The most interesting part about planning our wedding is that we have decided to get married in October....of this year, 2014!!  I know what you must be thinking, what a short engagement, only 4 months!?!  This brings me to the main point of today's blog: Family.

The reason for such a short engagement and rather rushed large wedding is that my soon to be Father-in-law is not in the best shape.  He has been struggling with congestive heart failure  more seriously the last few years.  He is currently stable and able to live a normal life, despite your typical hassles, walking long distance, drastic temps, etc.  What I'm getting at, is that I'm extremely grateful we are centering our wedding around the involvement of both of our families.

I have heard several horror stories about blending families within a marriage, but I'm honestly just excited that I'm going to have a bigger and better one to share my life with!  I know I may sound like every other young bride to be, but I can't help but be grateful for the family I am gaining.  I certainly have already had sleepless nights full of tears and stress, but in the end I know it's all worth it.  Some people don't have any family, but for me, I will choose to rest in the blessing of a growing one.

I encourage you to take a few minutes today and think about what your grateful for.  It may just be for making it to Starbucks for a cup of coffee or like myself for beginning a new chapter of you life.  We all have something we can be grateful for.  :)
